Why I'm Running

Wang4Livermore

I want to see Livermore continue to flourish, and I am committed to its success. To some, Livermore is known as a city of lab scientists, winegrowers and ranchers, but it’s also home to high-tech professionals, small business owners, and immigrant families, all seeking a safe community with good schools.

Our city continues to face challenges with housing affordability, traffic, and maintaining our infrastructure. Housing affordability affects all of us. I see first-hand how it hampers our ability to attract and retain quality teachers, first responders, service workers, and national laboratory employees. Those of us with adult children want this to be a community where young people can afford to live and raise their families as we did.

As your council member, I will be ready on day one to apply the knowledge, experience, and networks acquired through my community service, activism, and school board trustee work. I’m a good listener and problem solver. I will be a strong representative for you in District 4 and will work with my fellow council members and regional leaders to ensure Livermore is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Meet Kristie

I grew up working in my family’s small fish & chips restaurant in Fremont. My parents moved us here from Taiwan when I was seven, hoping to give their children more opportunities than they had in a country under martial law. I learned first-hand how challenging life can be for small business owners, immigrants, and working class families. Despite our modest means, my parents always showed us the importance of taking care of those around us and engaging in the community.
